entry 3

I've contacted the health dept. of two different states. I was searching for records of my grandfather, his father, and mother, (My grandfather and his mother are on the list of people).

They found some information on both my grandfather and great grandfather, but not my great grandmother.

I had a little trouble finding her in the census records, there is a span of a couple years where she isn't there. It took a while to find her, I finally tried family trees on ancestry.com and found
her and some of the family on the list.

Now I'm not saying everyone will be on ancestry or you'll always find what you're looking for, but sometimes you might find something interesting.

entry 2

I started when my Mom found and paid for a year of membershp to http://www.ancestry.com/ .
Since then I've been using that membership, and found census records, family trees, connections to extended family members we didn't know were there.

I also reseach family on search engines, I use Google, but I don't think it matters what one you use. In searching I've gone through so many rabbit holes. Many times I end up not knowing how I got there and who I was looking for, but the rabbit holes are fun. You can find something about your family you didn't know or you might find a piece of the family you didn't know existed.

I've learned a bit about internet searching family lines and made some friends along the way. I'd like to share some search tips with anyone else with the same interest. Below is 147 generations of my family tree and the story of how I was able to find them.
